# table.save_view_settings

Save the table layout for a board

PUT /boards/{boardId}/table/view-settings — answers 200

MCP tool: table_save_view_settings

Scope: boards:write. Kind: write. Acts on: personal.

Replaces the whole saved layout: which columns are hidden, the order they appear in, their widths and the sort. Send the layout you want to end up with, read from `table.get_view_settings` and amended — this is a PUT, so a field left out is not left alone. A column name the table no longer has is dropped rather than refused, so a layout saved before a column was renamed keeps working. Widths are clamped to what the grid can render.

Path and query parameters: boardId

Example — Hide the long text columns and sort by application date

Request:

```json
{"boardId":"brd_7","hiddenFields":["notes","description"],"columnOrder":["title","companyName","status"],"columnWidths":{"title":220},"sort":{"field":"applicationDate","direction":"desc"}}
```

Response:

```json
{
  "hiddenFields": [
    "notes",
    "description"
  ],
  "columnOrder": [
    "title",
    "companyName",
    "status"
  ],
  "columnWidths": {
    "title": 220
  },
  "sort": {
    "field": "applicationDate",
    "direction": "desc"
  }
}
